Plantair is a simple, inexpensive and convenient plant container insert based on Ponix MicroAg's proprietary Aeroot™ technology.

 

Plantair is a "soil platform" atop an Aeroot™ cavity base which elevates soil above the bottom of a plant container and any water that may be held in a saucer or trapped because of poor drainage. This proprietary design (U.S. patent pending) helps prevent over-watering and root rot and promotes root health by enhancing soil aeration. The Aeroot™ cavity base is optimally configured to inhibit stray root growth beyond the container while maximizing air flow to the bottom of the soil.

The slotted perimeter of the Plantair soil platform allows its edges to flex against the walls of a plant container in order to accommodate a wide range of diameters without having peripheral gaps.

The Plantair concept is easily adapted for a wide range of application configurations. Fabrication can be thin, single piece HDPE for inexpensive bulk offerings for nurseries and large garden centers; or readily and economically manufactured in 2 pieces which allows for a thin platform on a thicker molded Aeroot base; or as a more substantial PP or PVC design for large containers. Plantair is also easily reconfigured for square and rectangular container applications.
